  3. <hi style=afpcap>A descendant of the US Army's well-known Black Hawk, the Air Force's MH-60 Pave Hawk is the backbone of air rescue and special operations forces. Note the refueling probe extending from the right side of the nose, enabling this MH-60 to "gas up" and go deep into enemy territory if necessary. This MH-60 is based at Kirtland Air Force Base and is flying over New Mexico.</hi>
